A holiday marketing plan for a Spring business is a short list of decisions. People driving I-45, walking Old Town Spring, and living nearby will look up who is open, who has a real offer, and who can take a job before the year closes. If the answer is missing, they call the next listing.
Today is October 28, 2026. Thanksgiving is Thursday, November 26. Black Friday is November 27. Small Business Saturday is November 28. Cyber Monday is November 30, and Giving Tuesday is December 1. Four weeks is enough for accurate hours, one offer, and a page that works on a phone. It is not enough for a brand-new page to rank on its own.
The guide is for owners in Spring and nearby The Woodlands, Tomball, and Houston.
What people near Spring look up in November
Local holiday searches are specific: Are you open Thanksgiving? What time do you close Christmas Eve? Do gift cards work at the Spring location? Can I still book, or is the calendar full? Is the Saturday offer good in person, online, or both? Are you the Spring business, or a similar name in another city?
Those questions show up on Google Maps, in the local pack, and on your site. Shoppers rarely complain when the answer is missing. They leave.
Spring sits on I-45 north of Houston, from the shops of Old Town Spring to offices near the Grand Parkway. A Saturday visitor and a homeowner off the freeway are both “near Spring,” and they do not want the same next step. Say which one you serve. If you also cover Montgomery County, name The Woodlands, Conroe, or the other cities you actually reach.
Set Google Business Profile holiday hours first
Google Business Profile holiday hours come first, because people check the profile before they drive.
Google’s special-hours help says you can set special hours when you temporarily change your schedule or stay closed for up to six days in a row. Confirm official holidays even when the hours match a normal day, so customers can see the times are intentional. Google’s holiday list is where Google may warn, on the profile, that hours might differ until you set them. Thanksgiving, November 26, and Black Friday, November 27, are both on that list.
Open the Business Profile, choose Edit profile, then Hours, then Special hours. Pick the suggested date or add one. If you are open, uncheck Closed and enter the real times. If you are closed, leave Closed checked, then save. Add a second set of hours on the same date if you close midday.
Special hours appear only if the profile is set to “Open with main hours.” Another status hides them. Three other limits matter in December. A closure of seven days or more should be marked temporarily closed, not stretched across special hours. Thanksgiving through Giving Tuesday, November 26 through December 1, is six days, so that stretch fits. One set of hours cannot run past 24 hours; if you stay open past midnight, end the first day at midnight and start the next at midnight. Delivery, takeout, or other service windows belong in More hours, not in special hours.
Set each of these on its own, even when the hours match a normal day: November 26, 27, 28, and 29; November 30 if an online offer runs; December 1 if you take part in Giving Tuesday; December 24; December 25; and January 1, 2027. Add December 26 through 31 only for days that change. Then put the same hours on the website, the phone greeting, and any other listing you control. A panel that says 10 a.m. and a banner that says 9 a.m. creates the call your staff will spend Saturday answering.
Photos, categories, and posts are in our guide to optimizing a Google Business Profile for local SEO in Texas. Listing work paired with ads is part of Google Business Profile and social ads.
Choose one offer you can staff
Five discounts and no sentence a customer can repeat will not survive a busy Saturday. Pick one offer. A stranger should know what they get, who it is for, which dates it runs, and what to do next.
Patterns, not offers from this agency: a bonus on gift cards bought in the shop on November 28, while supplies last; a heater tune-up booked by December 15 with a morning the customer chooses; an order placed by December 18 that is ready for pickup in Spring before Christmas Eve. If a bonus runs out, say so the same day. An offer you cannot staff teaches people to skip the next post.
Old Town Spring shops can center the offer on a visit. Home services should center it on the calendar, because a percentage off does not answer whether you can come before guests arrive. Offices can use a deadline for a package or a January appointment. Do not publish a second, conflicting deal on social. One offer, repeated, is the useful part of Small Business Saturday marketing. The day is the Saturday after Thanksgiving. The listing has to match what you will actually do.
Send every click to one page
Point ads, posts, and email at one page about that offer. A homepage makes people hunt. The first screen should repeat the Google wording, the last day, the Spring hours, and the exclusions, with one action: call, book, or buy. Add parking, pickup, or the cities you serve. “Spring, Tomball, and The Woodlands” is more useful than a map of Texas.
Read it on a phone before you buy ads. A page built for a phone, with a clear next step, is what turns the click into a job. Link the page from the homepage and from the service it belongs to so it remains findable after the ad stops. A new page rarely ranks for a broad term in four weeks. It still matters, because the profile, the ads, and your email list can point at it now. Local SEO keeps it working later. Our local SEO tips for Houston-area businesses cover that longer job.
Post the offer on your Google Business Profile
Google’s post help says an offer needs a title, dates, and a time. Google adds a “View offer” button. You can add a description, photo, coupon code, link, and terms, and you can schedule the post. Use a title close to the page. Use the real end date. Link the offer page, not the homepage. Use a photo from the Spring location this month. Match the terms to the page. Posts older than six months are archived unless a date range is set, so a dated offer can expire on time.
Schedule it about a week before the start, and add a short update the day before Small Business Saturday. Edit it if details change. If you advertise, send Google or social ads to the same page and end date. Structure is covered in our Google Ads notes for beginners. If you are not advertising yet, do not launch a complicated campaign on November 25. Lead generation still needs a person watching the phone, the form, and profile messages on November 27 and 28. Advertise only after the hours are saved, point those ads at the offer page, and remove a Saturday coupon on Monday.
A four-week calendar starting October 28
October 28 through November 1
Enter special hours for November 26 through December 1, plus December 24, December 25, and January 1. Confirm the profile is open with main hours. Write the one-sentence offer. List every place hours appear — site, Google, Facebook, the door, voicemail — and name who updates each. Take photos you will publish.
November 2 through November 8
Publish the page. Send a test order or form and confirm the alert arrives. Schedule the offer post. Message existing customers only where they already agreed to hear from you. Ask for reviews now. A review already on the profile helps more than a request sent December 23.
November 9 through November 30
Repeat the same offer in email, social, and a profile update. If you advertise, start now so the page and the phone path can be fixed before Thanksgiving week. On the morning of November 25, reread the listing on a phone. On Saturday, staff the action you asked for. On November 30, remove the Saturday offer if it has ended.
Shops, home services, and offices
A boutique in Old Town Spring should publish Saturday hours, what the offer includes, and whether gift cards are sold at the counter, with a photo of the shop. A company driving from Spring to Tomball, The Woodlands, or Houston should publish the last booking day before Christmas, whether holiday emergencies are staffed, and the cities served. Naming a real area is the point of the pages for Spring, Tomball, The Woodlands, and Houston.
If restaurant pickup ends before the dining room, put that window in More hours and repeat the last order date on the page. An office closed the week of Christmas should say so early. Closed, written out, is clearer than silence next to Google’s holiday warning.
After Small Business Saturday
December searches move to gift cards, last pickup dates, and whether you can still arrive before Christmas. Take the Saturday discount down the day it ends. Add the last day to order or buy a gift card for Christmas Eve pickup. Set December 24 and December 25 hours as soon as you know them, and edit them if staffing changes the close. Ask for a review while the visit is fresh, reply to reviews already there, and note calls, forms, direction requests, and which offer people used. That note is next year’s plan.
Start with the hours, then the offer
Set the holiday hours and write the one-sentence offer before you promote anything. Hours without an offer still help. An offer without hours creates wasted trips.

Frequently asked questions
When should a Spring business enter holiday hours on Google?
Before you announce an offer. Google lets you set special hours in advance. Confirm Thanksgiving, Black Friday, Small Business Saturday, Christmas Eve, and Christmas, even when some of those days use normal hours.
Our hours do not change on Thanksgiving. Do we still add special hours?
Yes. Google’s Business Profile help recommends confirming hours for official holidays even when they match your regular hours, so customers can see the hours are accurate. On holidays Google lists, a warning may appear that your hours might differ until you set special hours.
Can one Google Business Profile offer cover Black Friday and Small Business Saturday?
Yes, if the deal and the terms are the same both days. An offer post needs a title, dates, and a time. If Saturday’s deal is different from Friday’s, use a separate post or edit the listing when Friday ends so you never show a discount you have stopped honoring.
What belongs in the plan if we are a service business, not a shop?
Your calendar. Publish the last day to book before Christmas, whether you work the holiday, and the cities you serve, such as Spring, Tomball, and The Woodlands. A discount is optional. A clear deadline is not.
